Building a Content Strategy

Building a Content Strategy

Are you ready to build a content strategy for your business? You’ve heard us talk constantly about the benefits of creating content, but like all good things, a proper strategy is needed to apply content to your business. Let’s break down what a good strategy looks like.

What is a content strategy?

A content strategy is the act of building a plan for your content that answers the questions of creation, delivery, and reporting. Your content strategy might look different each month, each quarter, or each year depending on your goals. At Marketing TEA we build and create new strategies for our clients each quarter in our Custom TEA Blends. Doing this helps us pivot what we want to highlight at that moment and lets us look at what is working well and areas for improvement in a client’s marketing.

Don’t forget that content is not only the words you write but the audio and visuals you create through images, videos, and podcasts as well!

Here are a few tips to help you develop your next content strategy:

  1. What are you hoping to achieve in this given timespan?
  2. What content formats will you focus on at this moment?
  3. How will you manage your content creation?

Answering these questions will help you understand your focus area and how to build off of it from there. For example, for this particular quarter let’s say you want to get more sign-ups for a particular service that you offer. After establishing that, now you can think about the types of content that will help. This could be in the form of creating video ads that highlight this service, an email blast and/or blog content that will highlight the service, and then scheduling and creating all types of content that are specific to this service.

The next step is planning out how you will manage this content creation and distribution for the quarter so you follow through with all of your plans and so you can achieve your goals in the intended time frame!

Doing this can be a lot of work, but that is where we can step in to help take the planning, creation, delivery, and execution off your plate. If you want to learn more, let’s chat!
