Is Print Marketing/Advertising Dead in 2023?
In our ever-evolving and growing digital world, it might seem like more traditional print marketing and advertising is dead. While we do think print marketing has lost some relevance in our current landscape, there are still moments where traditional marketing is exactly what someone needs. We declare it is in fact NOT dead!
Here’s why! The digital space can get overwhelming.
- There is so much to consume at all times when you are scrolling the web. Too much. This leads to consumers spending less than 5 minutes on your site. On the flip side, readers spend a significant amount of extra time with print reading material.
- On social media, you are thrown ad after ad and you don’t know who or what to trust. There has even been a new movement taking over called ‘de-influencing’ for this very reason. According to an article by Daniel Burstein, Senior Director, Content & Marketing, MarketingSherpa and MECLABS Institute, 82% of consumers trust print ads the most when making purchase decisions. Without all of the constant digital ads and sponsored posts, the print advertisements feel more authentic.
- We have probably all heard how our attention spans are decreasing due to the increased screen time. Well, print ads require 21% less cognitive effort to process, so seeing these ads in hand makes them more likely to take in the message you are conveying.
Like we mentioned before, print is very important for the right campaigns but what we think is the MOST effective way to run a successful campaign is by combining all your efforts. After all, repetition is king! When a campaign consists of print and digital ads, it makes online campaigns 400% more effective. AND digital marketing is very cost effective, meaning you get a lot more bang for your buck! Who doesn’t like that?
