Ways to Increase Your Creativity in Marketing
Feeling a little down in the creativity department? It happens to the best of us. Especially when marketing might not be your full-time role, or even if it is, it is quite normal to go through creative droughts.
When this happens to me, I try to find ways to increase my creativity so I can always bring my A-game! If you want to learn a few simple ways to help you out in your down moments, keep reading!
Change your routine.
Simply taking a task and looking at it during a different part of the day can help spark some different ideas. Perhaps you tried to do the marketing projects at the end of your day when your other work is done, but you are actually most creative in the morning. Flip flop your schedule and try looking at it through a new lens.
Another thing you could try to change besides the time is the place. Sitting at a desk might not get your most creative thoughts flowing. Try sitting outside or heading to a populated area like a coffee shop or a park. Seeing other people or enjoying the outdoors might give you the boost you need to spark some truly fun ideas!
Get feedback from multiple people.
It is important to get feedback. It helps hone in on great ideas and make them even better. But do you know what is even better than getting feedback? Getting feedback from more than one place! If you always ask the same people, then you will get the same opinions and likely the same results. Other people might have a fresh take on your ideas and encourage you to go after something else.
On a recent episode of The Socially Unstable Podcast, we talked about how you have to get out and try things to learn new things! You have to go beyond the normal work clock and task lists to continue to learn, grow, and improve. That is what we like to do at Marketing TEA. We create beyond work for inspiration! The more you experience and try and do, the more inspiration you have to draw on for your marketing.
I think you know that we are big proponents of health. It bleeds into everything we do here. A great way for our team members to increase their creativity is by increasing their movement. Exercise is a perfect way to take a break from your work when you need it and improve your mood and innovative thinking. You don’t have to take our word for it, but you can take theirs!
There are many ways to help you get creative, the important thing is finding what works best for you! And of course, when you have exhausted all options, it is always good to call in an expert. 😎
